Bringing together more than 300 Murano glass animals from the personal collection of distinguished art historian, Académie française member, and Honorary Director of the Louvre Pierre Rosenberg, Et Nous Alors? transforms a single grand gallery into a vibrant glass menagerie. Grouped by species beneath transparent domes, the figurines — ranging from elephants and giraffes to fish, birds, and insects — celebrate the virtuosity of Venetian glassmakers from the 20th century to the present day, while inviting visitors to reflect on our ambivalent relationship with the living world.

The exhibition design immerses visitors in an atmosphere at once uncanny and contemplative — darkened surroundings give way to brilliantly illuminated platforms, where each glass animal is lit to reveal the full depth of its craftsmanship: the luminous translucency of a jellyfish, the bold abstraction of a bear, the vivid chromatic intensity of a tropical bird. Light becomes the curatorial tool, drawing out the idiosyncrasy, humour, and quiet strangeness of every piece.
